After one of his daughters is falsely defamed, Chaman Lal, a man living on the banks of the Ravi River, finds the marriage prospects of all four of his daughters destroyed. When a traveller named Sikander helps him realize that true happiness lies in inner peace rather than in society's judgment, Chaman Lal regains hope.
